Seven pupils from Seeds of Hope Day and Boarding Primary School in Busulanai Sub County, Sironko district have received bursaries from Asha Mafabi Nabulo Foundation.
The bursaries worth one million Uganda shilling were handed over to the school headteacher Hassan Nakigoga by Asha Mafabi Nabulo the director of the foundation.
The children who received the bursaries include; Nachwawo John (P1), Nagudi Shamina (P2), Gidongo Alex (P3), Nandudu Mercy (P4), Buzaza Yowana (P4) Magomu Iddi of (P6) and Wedeza Mosses (P7).
According to Nabulo, bursaries are part of her plan that aims at supporting bright but needy pupils in schools.
Hassan Nakigoga the School Headteacher welcomed the bursaries saying leaders need to emulate Nabulo’s plan if the education sector in Sironko is to be boosted.
Nabulo will contest for the Sironko District Woman Parliamentary seat in the 2021 elections. Others in the race include incumbent Florence Nambozo Mayoga(NRM), Hilda Nadunga (NRM), Eva Kayegi(Independent), Robinah Wamanga (FDC) and Femiar Wadada (Independent).
