Asha Mafabi Nabulo an aspirant for the Sironko District Woman Parliamentary seat says lack of unity explains the increased poverty levels among Bamasaaba.
Nabulo said this on Saturday during training on health matters for youth in Sironko District. The meeting was held at Jose Maria Hotel in Sironko town council.
Nabulo said that most times Bamasaaba have failed to unite and therefore missed out on opportunities that would have developed the area. She cited the people of Western Uganda as perfect example of a group that is united and developed as a result.
She also urged the Sironko District leadership to prioritise youth programmes during the implementation of government projects. This, she said will empower youth to economically sustain themselves.
More than 100 youth attended the training and received certificates after completion. The youth were equipped with skills in health precautions and first aid.
