MP Nambozo urges Moslem Women to unite for Development

Sironko District Woman Member of Parliament Florence Nambozo Mayoga has urged Muslim Women to remain united if they are to achieve prosperity.

Nambozo made the call over the weekend at the annual Muslims Day Celebrations held at Kaduwa Mosque, in Bukulo Sub County, Sironko District where she was chief guest.

Nambozo said women if united will speak with one voice and this will spur development. She said that as one way of economically empowering Ugandans, government needs to set aside more money for women and youth in the various programmes tailor made for them.

In a related development, MP Nambozo has urged religious leaders to continue sensitizing Ugandans about wealth creation so as to eradicate poverty at household level.

She said this while addressing Christians of Bumudu Church of Uganda in Buwalasi Sub County at a fundraising aimed at constructing church structures.

NAMISINDWA: A lifeless body of a man who disappeared on Sunday recovered from forest.

The lifeless body of a man in Namisindwa district who disappeared on Sunday has been recovered from Mount Elgon Forest National Park.

The deceased has been identified as Ezra Wesswa, a resident of Bukiminyi village Buwere parish in Bupoto Sub County.

His lifeless body was found dangling on a tree in Mount Elgon Forest National Park yesterday by young boys who had gone to fetch firewood.

Wesswa, who was still unmarried, has been staying with his father because of mental problems.

Residents say the deceased had repeatedly threatened to end his life if his father doesn’t allocate him another piece of land after disposing of the one he was allocated.

John Robert Tukei, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, says the deceased’s relatives first picked his body from the crime scene before reporting to police. He said inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
