MP Connie Nakayenze Decries Selective Enforcement of COVID-19 Guidelines.

Mbale District Woman Member of Parliament Connie Nakayenze Galiwango has called for leveled ground for all politicians in the enforcement of guidelines aimed at tackling the deadly covid-19 pandemic.

Nakayenze (NRM) who is vying for the Mbale City Woman Parliamentary seat says that many politicians are not following covid-19 guidelines as stipulated by government. The guidelines include putting on masks, social distancing and washing hands.

But according to Nakayenze many politicians are flouting the guidelines; an indicator that there could be selective enforcement by the authorities.

She explains that the scientific campaigns as announced by the electoral commission are quite challenging for the candidates as many Ugandans they go out to meet do not put on masks. Nakayenze has called for adherence to the guidelines to curb the deadly pandemic.

Nakayenze will take on Lydia Wanyoto Mutende and Jalia Namasaba in the NRM party primaries that are slated for September 4, 2020. The winner will be the NRM flag bearer for the Mbale City Woman Parliamentary seat.
