Two Police Officers In Manafwa Test Positive For Covid-19.

Two police officers at Manafwa Central Police Station (CPS) in Manafwa District have tested positive for Covid-19.

Police says that all 28 police officers at Manafwa Central Police Station were subjected to tests after a suspect, a 15 year old on charges of attempted murder tested positive.

Rogers Taitika the Elgon region Police spokesperson says that following the tests, out of the 28 police officers, two have turned positive. Taitika says that the two officers have been taken to Mbale for treatment. Taitika explains that the rest of the officers who tested negative are under quarantine for the mandatory fourteen days.

He has also dispelled reports that Manafwa CPS was closed. Taitika says that they have got officers from outposts to cover the manpower gap at CPS Manafwa.  

Uganda has since registered 2,362 Covid19 cases, 1226 recoveries and 20 deaths.
